A year ago, the three ports of the Seine river artery - Ports de Paris, Grand Port Maritime de Rouen, Grand Port Maritime du Havre - were presenting their grouping within HAROPA - HAvre-ROuen-PAris or Harbours of Paris. This grouping is now operational, especially in the fields of development, sales and marketing.
HAROPA (an economic interest grouping formed by the ports of Le HAvre, ROuen and PAris), is a highly intermodal port complex whose short sea services are particularly highly developed in Rouen et Le Havre, the role of Paris being more related to maritime/river traffic. This fact and the efficiency of the EIG formed by the three ports convinced the panel of judges of the Nuit du Shortsea organized by BP2S (the French bureau for promotion of short sea shipping and intermodality).
On 5 December in Paris, HAROPA received the “Port of the Year” prize.
