Port of Rouen Authority

A gateway for Europe

  • A privileged geographical situation

The terminals of the Port of Rouen are located at the mouth of the Seine in the Seine Valley. They are geographically close to Paris, providing a gateway to the greater western region of France and opening them out internationally.

  • Four complementary sites

The Port of Rouen Vallée de Seine comprises four sites extending over 120 km, with the terminals of Honfleur, Port-Jérôme/Radicatel, Saint-Wandrille/leTrait and Rouen allowing goods to transit within the immediate vicinity of final users
  • Multiple access

The Port of Rouen Vallée de Seine is connected to the main French and economic centres by:
    - A big tonnage (5000 tonnes) water route going down to just above Paris
    - A comprehensive motorway network
    - A dense rail system
    - Close lying international airports (Roissy / Orly)

  • Proximity of Paris

The terminals of Port of Rouen Seine Valley are the closest maritime installations to Paris. This allow Rouen to be considered as Paris's maritime port further adding to the services provided by the Port of le Havre.

With the Paris River Port, these two ports form the leading French port complex.

The Port of Rouen hinterland is thus extremely dense with twenty-two million people living within a radius of 125 miles (200 kilometres). This population density is the highest of any of the French ports
