2009 RESULTS

After three consecutive years above 22Mt, the Port of Rouen has now exceeded the 23Mt mark for maritime traffic, registering 23.3Mt, a total that rises to 28.1Mt if river traffic is included. This is the fifyh best maritime traffic figure in the history of the Port of Rouen.

Traffic level over a long period show that liquid and dry bulk have stood up well over time.

In 2009, liquid bulk, which accounts for 49.7% of maritime traffic, grew by +6.9%.

The breakdown of traffic figures by site demonstrates the attractiveness of Rouen conurbation.

The breakdown by principal geographical area highlights the role Europe and Africa.

At the close of 2009, the Port of Rouen was still in the first rank for many specialities, making Rouen a reference among French and European ports.

Where dry bulk is concerned, this represented 42% of maritime traffic, and was up by +6.3%.

General cargo showed a further drop of -27.2%, this being linked notably to the fall-back in forest products, along with sea and river container traffic.
